JapShow June 2008 - Sunday 22nd June

The JapShow June 2008 is now over! A blustery but sunny day at the Pod saw some great times on the dragstrip and some top cars on show. JapShow Finale 2008 - Sunday 5th October
JapShow Finale Test Day (Jap Car only RWYB) - Saturday 4th October

JapShow Finale 2008 will host the finals of the HKS Drag Series and as well as all the usual activities there will also be Helicopter pleasure rides available, the Jet Dragster "Split Second" will be running, and on Saturday night the Pod Palais heated nightclub will open it's doors. There will also be VIP/Hospitality available for the first time at JapShow finale 2008, details on the Ticket page.

Japan has produced some of the finest driver and tuner cars of recent years, which have taken Britain by storm. The success of the Japanese car scene is not surprising, when Skylines, Evos, Imprezas, Supras and RX-7s are rocketing up the dragstrip quicker than the world's fastest production cars. It's easy to see how the Jap scene has emerged from the underground car culture to mainstream appeal, and 1/4 mile performance is the ultimate badge of honour.

The JapShow events at Santa Pod are the embodiment of the popularity of these cars, with Europe's best competing in the HKS Drag Series, Run What Ya Brung open to everyone else, Drifting, Car Club Displays and much more.

NEW Ticket Prices for 2008 - The ticket price for JapShow and JapShow finale will be dependant on whether you arrive in a Japanese car or not. Also new for 2008, RWYB is for Japanese Cars only on Saturday and Sunday. Full ticket details on the Tickets page. Please note, ticket prices are PER PERSON, not per vehicle.

What's on at JapShow Finale 2008

Run What Ya Brung Competition: Get your car on the famous track and see what it can do! £20 unlimited runs on Saturday test day and £15 for 3 runs on Sunday main day, with a full performance print-out available for each run. You will need to bring your driving licence to sign-on. Trophies for class winners. Visit the RWYB page for more info. RWYB is open to Jap Cars ONLY on Saturday and Sunday.

HKS Drag Series - Round 4: Showcase Drag Racing for Europe's fastest Jap drag cars. Witness 8 second, 1,000 bhp pro cars in action with thrilling racing across 3 classes. Full Details and list of competitors at www.japdragseries.co.uk.

Jet Car: Martin Hill and the crew will be putting the Fireforce 3 Jet Funny Car through its paces. This fire throwing beast is the fastest Jet Car in the world.

Stunt Displays: A Top UK stunt driver will be at JapShow to entertain and astound you with awesome stunts and exquisite car control.

Meguiar's Show Car Paddock: Whether you've got a classic or modified Jap show car, if it's something special, make sure you enter it into the Meguiars Show Car Paddock. Don't leave it in the main carpark where no-one will see it! Get it into the show and get noticed! The Meguiars Show Car Paddock is FREE to enter, and there are trophies for the top five cars, and prize packs from Meguiars. There's no need to pre-enter, simply turn up, park up, and shine up! Make sure you fill in a sign-on form available from the organisers in the paddock area.

Drift Demos: The drifters return to the Pod with their incredible performances of tyre-frying, sideways action, precision control and astounding speed to show you what drifting is all about at close quarters. Watch some of the country's top drifters practice on Saturday when passenger rides will also be available and then don't miss the full on Drift Shows on Sunday.

Handling Challenge: A tight handling circuit will be ready for you to test your driving skills not just your cars power. So if you've got a Micra or a Starlet and are afraid of the big-boys on the dragstrip then show ‘em your heels on the handling circuit! The driver with the fastest time gets a trophy. Off Track: Away from the cars there will be Traders selling everything from ICE to Bodykits, a Fun Fair with arcades, rides and sideshows, plus free Pole Dance shows in Fuelers Bar. There are licensed bars and caterers on site selling food and drink to suit all tastes. There is a cash machine in the Pod Shop.

Club Displays/Camping: Club display and camping areas are available on a first-come-first-served basis. The first clubs to book for JapShow Finale 2008 are Mazda Rotary Club, GTROC, and Mitsubishi Lancer Register, Mark IV Supra Club, Japtorque, Jap Northeast, and SSC Subaru.

Marangoni Pit Stop Challenge: Marangoni are giving you the chance to win a white knuckle ride of a lifetime in the Santa Pod 2-Seater dragster. To win this amazing prize, you just need to visit the Marangoni ‘Pit Stop’ stand, no booking necessary, and change 2 wheels/tyres against the clock, on the Marangoni car. The Marangoni girls will be the judges and time each Pit Stop, with the quickest time of the day as the winner!

2 Seater Dragster: For the ultimate thrill ride, the 7 second Santa Pod 2 Seater Dragster will be running at JapShow on Sunday with passenger rides available for £250. Details at www.santapod.com.

Mobile Dyno: The Rapid GB Dyno will be at JapShow, allowing anyone to get a full power and torque readout and some tuning advice from the experts using some of the latest and most accurate mobile dyno kit available. Take part in the Horse Power Heroes competition that will run throughout the year, details and prices at www.rapid-gb.co.uk.
